Getting To Know Social Media with SCORE
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 in Blog, Social Media Training
It looks like my presentation at the SCORE Women in Business Luncheon pushed the members to seriously consider this thing called “Social Media”. Today there will be a holiday social mixer for SCORE mentors at the Minneapolis chapter to learn about Social Media.
They will have the opportunity to check out LinkedIN, a new WordPress blog being developed for them, a new website from the national SCORE headquarters and of course, open QnA with me on anything dealing with the subject.
Haven’t heard of SCORE?
SCORE stands for the Social Corps of Retired Executives. It’s mission is to empower business owners to be successful through direct mentoring. It’s completely free and I strongly encourage you look into it if you are starting a business or already have one. The wisdom and feedback I’ve received from my mentors has been invaluable to my growing success.

My father was an avid member of SCORE and enjoyed it a great deal. He was not a retired executive, by the way, but had gone from business into civil service, and did SCORE volunteering anyway (part of his motivation was to encourage people in the community he served as a public servant to engage in this, so… “do as I say, and I’m doin’ it too”).
